Inaugural U.S. World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration: A Virtual Coming Together

Event Date

Saturday, 10 October 2020

This is FREE full day event with the objectives of wisdom sharing and community building for all invested in hospice and palliative care. No CME/CEU will be provided, but as it is a Zoom event, you can jump in / out as the day’s event goes at your leisure. Dr. Felicia Knaul will be the opening speaker, sharing findings and experience from the Lancet Commission on Global Access to Palliative Care and Pain Relief. Dr. Katherine Pettus, International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care Advocacy Officer, will close the day with her thoughts on how we can advocate for quality hospice and palliative care in our everyday settings. We have incredible leaders discussing COVID-19, social justice and palliative care equity, spiritual care, palliative nursing, and psychosocial and ethical considerations in the pandemic era. We will also hear from a patient and family caregiver who will share their story about living well in the face of advancing cancer and the 'gift' of hospice. We look forward to seeing you there. See event link for registration info and speaker bios.
