CanSupport, is planning to hold a two hour telethon on Saturday, October 10, 2020, World Hospice & Palliative Care Day. Like every year, on the 10th of October, people around the world who have been impacted by a life-limiting illness, either personally or by supporting a loved one, will be making their voices heard by word and by song. Those who have been standing in solidarity with them, local leaders, volunteers, advocates, clinicians, celebrities, will also be volunteering their time to amplify this year’s theme: Palliative Care: It's "My Care, My Comfort." This time, CanSupport is teaming up with NewsX, a national TV channel, to reach out to a wider audience. It will be an opportunity for us to share our vision of a caring society, to raise awareness and understanding of the needs of people living with cancer and their families, to appeal to policy makers to make palliative care part of mainstream medicine, as well as raise funds for our free of charge services for the less privileged and underserved. Since its inception, CanSupport has been working in partnership with BRAICH/AIIMS to bring palliative care to the homes of patients with cancer living in Delhi and the National Capital Region. Today, we have a presence in the states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Our telephone helpline receives calls from all over India while our Day Care and outpatient clinics offer succour, support, love and healing to those far away from home and under treatment in major cancer hospitals in Delhi.
