Already for several years World Hospice and Palliative Care Day has been celebrated also in Latvia. This year the central event will be the premiere of a short documentary movie "Together easier" taken by Children's Palliative Care Society, shown on 12th October. The film was made by visiting Latvian families with children who need palliative care team service. In the movie families will share their stories of everyday life together with a seriously ill child and support opportunities. The film was financially supported by the Society Integration Foundation from the State budget programme “NGO fund” (project No. 2016.LV/NVOF/PSA/018/39). During the event, the new Children's Palliative Care Society's stand "Miracles do happen!" also will be presented, showing some examples of children whose health condition has stabilized and due to that reason the palliative care services are no longer needed. Besides this event, among other Hospice month activities in October, Children's Palliative Care Society together with partners will install "Angels wooden garden" next to support centre building "Hand in Hand" belonging to the association "Aizpute Samaritan" and to the children's social care centre "Pļavnieki", thus continuing to develop the charity movement the "Angel Tree".
